ISAT Election Announcement

January 2026

As per the ISAT Constitution, we are pleased to announce that elections for the  Majlis Shura (Board of Trustees) and Executive Committee will be held in January 2026. These elections are a crucial part of our governance, ensuring that leadership decisions reflect the collective voice of our community.

To uphold fairness and transparency, the election process will be conducted under the supervision of election commissioners appointed by the Majlis Shura and approved by ISNA (Article VIII, Section 1).

Election Timeline:

 Election Announcement: March 26, 2025

 Nomination Period:Nomination Period: January 2, 2026 – January 9, 2026 (Nominations must be submitted at least seven days before the election date.)

 Candidate Announcement: January 12, 2026 (Updated to be before the election date)

 Election Date: January 18, 2026

 Results Announcement: January 20, 2026

Eligibility & Nomination Process:  Eligibility: All Regular Members in good standing (as defined in Article III, Section 2a) are eligible to vote and run for office.

 Nomination Submission: Candidates must submit their nominations to the Election Commissioners no later than January 9, 2026.

 Application Fee: A $145 annual fee is required as a shared investment that allows us to sustain and expand services.

 Students: $125 annual fee.

 Approval: All nominations will be reviewed according to the ISAT Constitution.

Voting Process:  Elections will be conducted [in person] under the supervision of election commissioners.

 Members must be in good standing to cast their votes.

 A quorum of 25% of all voting members is required for the election meeting.

 If a two-thirds majority of voting members present at the General Body’s election meeting decide not to hold elections, the current members of the Majlis Shura and Executive Committee shall remain in office for the next term (Article VIII, Section 5).
